Important Notice Please Read

Swimmers Guide is not connected with any of the facilities listed on this site in any way. We cannot tell you the pools’ opening and closing times or when Senior Aerobics classes are held; we cannot tell you about the availability or cost of swimming lessons; we cannot get you discounted admission to swim at any of them; and we cannot help you find your children’s lost goggles or bathing suits.

We can and do try to give you reliable information about the pools, their locations, their admission policies, and their single-visit or casual swimming prices. Where possible, we include hypertext links to the pools’ own official websites and Facebook pages, clickable email addresses, and links to the websites of the clubs and teams that swim there. Look to those resources within each listing for more detailed information.

The data in the site is under continual review and is revised whenever the site’s editor becomes aware of a change, but, with more than 20,000 listings, a complete, periodic review of every listing takes about seven years to complete; in many places, prices will change four or five times before we have a chance to check the pool’s official website again.

For that reason, we ask for your help: If any of the information in the listing is incorrect, out of date, or could be improved, please tell us. There is an "Edit" button on just about every line of every listing, click on the edit button to tell us what needs to be changed. (No, it's not a place for you to ask us questions. What we have in each listing is the latest news we have.)

Also, please consider checking the listings of the pools you regularly use at home or when traveling, as your knowledge may be helpful to someone else who is unfamiliar with the area and visiting for the first time. Just go to the Add a Pool section of the site, read the first page, then fill out the questionnaire.

Facility Notes

NOTE: Admissions to the pool (bonos) are sold at the Sports Office (Oficina de Deportes) in the Estadio Municipal de Maspalomas near the swimming pool area. From the pool entrance, go left if you're facing the pool entrance or right if the entrance is at your back (southwest, in either case) for about 70 metres through the parking area to the alley with the wall that surrounds the stadium; turn right (northwest) and walk about 90 metres down the alley, with the stadium wall on your left. At the end of the alley, turn left (southwest) and walk along the Calle San Mateo for about 110 metres to the stadium entrance. The office is on the floor above the ground floor (the first floor in Spanish, the second floor in English). Several bonos can be purchased and loaded onto the bracelet at the same time. The bracelet is yours, there is no refund for returning it to the sports office.
The Sports Office, where pool admissions are sold, is open weekdays from 8 AM to 2 PM and from 5 to 7:45 PM Tuesdays and Thursdays; it is closed on weekends and holidays. Admissions can be purchased online (see THIS PAGE for instructions and a link to the page where tickets are sold); as might be expected, the instruction PDFs are in Spanish, as is the site for the purchase portal.
The pool is open weekdays 8 AM - 10 PM, Saturdays 10 AM - 2 PM, and closed Sundays.
Three lanes are set aside for lessons, but available to lap swimmers when no classes are running. Kickboards, pull-buoys, etc. are available at no charge.
Swim caps are required. There are changing rooms with showers, but there are no lockers, so everyone leaves their clothes and bikes at the side of the pool. There is a cafe in the pool complex.
Although the pool's web page ("website", above) says the pools are heated, as indicated in the first review and further reported to us in January, 2020, if there still is a heating system, it doesn't work.

Facility Reviews

It is not quite true the pools are heated. There is a heating facility, but it is old and not powerful enough to heat both pools. So they heat only the smaller pool. For training outside the warmer seasons, wetsuits are advisable.
This is an excellent facility. It is a very clean with superb water quality in both pools. It's also fully outdoors. It feels like a training camp pool, once you've managed to negotiate the entry system!

Finding the office to purchase the entry wristband and pay for the swim was a bit of goose chase, as it is not at all where you expect it to be and is at the furthest point away in an office on the first floor of the municipal sports building, next door. They take your date of birth and name and take a photograph for their records. You then buy as many swims as you need, for which you get a receipt and is then loaded onto the wristband. It's worth the effort, as the pool is lovely to swim in and was never crowded on the four occasions I visited in one week. Recommended!
