A City of Surrey Recreation Pass Card is required to enter city facilities. The cards are free and available at the front desks, but first-time visitors may need to allow additional time for issuance, unless they register for the card online, in advance.
Facility Reviews
This is a great facility overall. There is a big kids' area separate from the main pool, including a slide and a small lazy river. The main pool is big and excellent (usually only 50m early some mornings). The universal change area is large but the men's and women's changing rooms are small. There is also a steam room and a sauna, as well as a gym, located upstairs in the same building.

Grandview Heights Aquatic Centre is dirty and dangerous for lap swimmers. This facility is fairly new; it opened in 2016. The implementation of cleanliness, safety, and management at the pool, however, is lacking. To enter and exit the facility, you must run the gantlet of outdoor smokers and e-vapers. Once inside, the women's locker room smelled as though someone was smoking in it. There are large signs in the changing areas saying "no spitting"; the signs did not deter the behavior from patrons who routinely spat on the floor. The showers have no water pressure and not much hot water.
The lap pool is configured for swimming with signs designating slow, medium, fast, and water walking, but there is no pool etiquette. While I was swimming in the fast lane, random people jumped in the lane opposite of the entry area and floated. The floaters were oblivious to the fact that there were swimmers circling about them. The lifeguards stood and watched as floaters continually jumped into a crowded lane without any regard for real lap swimmers.
