Important Notice Please Read

Swimmers Guide is not connected with any of the facilities listed on this site in any way. We cannot tell you the pools’ opening and closing times or when Senior Aerobics classes are held; we cannot tell you about the availability or cost of swimming lessons; we cannot get you discounted admission to swim at any of them; and we cannot help you find your children’s lost goggles or bathing suits.

We can and do try to give you reliable information about the pools, their locations, their admission policies, and their single-visit or casual swimming prices. Where possible, we include hypertext links to the pools’ own official websites and Facebook pages, clickable email addresses, and links to the websites of the clubs and teams that swim there. Look to those resources within each listing for more detailed information.

The data in the site is under continual review and is revised whenever the site’s editor becomes aware of a change, but, with more than 20,000 listings, a complete, periodic review of every listing takes about seven years to complete; in many places, prices will change four or five times before we have a chance to check the pool’s official website again.

For that reason, we ask for your help: If any of the information in the listing is incorrect, out of date, or could be improved, please tell us. There is an "Edit" button on just about every line of every listing, click on the edit button to tell us what needs to be changed. (No, it's not a place for you to ask us questions. What we have in each listing is the latest news we have.)

Also, please consider checking the listings of the pools you regularly use at home or when traveling, as your knowledge may be helpful to someone else who is unfamiliar with the area and visiting for the first time. Just go to the Add a Pool section of the site, read the first page, then fill out the questionnaire.

Facility Notes

The building dates to 1907 and has brick-size tiles, side gutters, but no end gutters, and a translucent skylight that runs the length of the pool.
A £1.7 million renovation of the pool and changing facilities was completed in August, 2017.

Facility Reviews

It's not a 'smart' pool, but it is always clean and friendly.
A wonderful old building, convenient and central - but the pool and facilities are pretty old.
The showers are old and excellent - push-button operated, they stay on for a decent length of time, they're hot and have good pressure. I really, really liked it. It ain't broke and I hope they don't mend it.
It's been gently refurbished - smartened up a bit but kept all the charm.

A friendly place, and the water is warm, but a lack of lane discipline makes it an uncomfortable place to swim.
[March, 2013]
Rating: 7 on a scale of 10. It's busy but they keep a lane available for lap swimming and segment the swimmers. Evenings after 7:30 are quieter. Since the renovation, although old, the pool is clean and well lit.
[October, 2017]
Adult lap swim has three lanes: slow, medium, and fast. The medium lane is very wide and passing is easy. The lane etiquette is just fine. School children arrive for lessons on the weekdays, mid-morning. The pool is then divided into sections: two lanes for kids, and two lanes for laps. The locker areas are co-ed. There are howers galore. And there are many private change /shower cabanas. The lockers take a £1 coin, which is returned. The centre is located in a fabulous neighborhood.
[September, 2018]
This is an excellent pool for single swims. It's usually not very crowded. It's a bit old, but in good sanitary condition and well kept. The price for a single swim is ok. Bus no.49 stops 100 meters away.
[November, 2018]
This is a nice and cozy pool in the very center of Chelsea. The pool itself is quite old. The walls and floor are not tiled but painted, but it's kept in good condition. The building, from the early XX Century, is very beautiful. The changing rooms and showers are modern. It was never overcrowded the three times I was there (from 5 until 8 PM).
