Facility Reviews
The entrance to this pool is in the rear of a large apartment building. The pool is in the basement. While the facility is relatively clean and the temperature reasonable, the water is quite cloudy and heavily chlorinated. The pool set-up is odd, with three rather narrow lap lanes and an area weirdly subdivided like a Mondrian painting.
The first hour on a Friday morning, the pool was full of slow breaststrokers, but the lifeguard was very accommodating and cleared half a lane for me. Soon after 8 AM, the crowd thinned. Pull buoys, kick boards, and towels are available pool side. While not the best for lap swimming, this is a good deal by Manhattan standards being open to the public and only $10 a pop.
Do not bother trying to call, no one answers the phone and the voicemail is not activated. I did get a response to an email.
