Important Notice Please Read

Swimmers Guide is not connected with any of the facilities listed on this site in any way. We cannot tell you the pools’ opening and closing times or when Senior Aerobics classes are held; we cannot tell you about the availability or cost of swimming lessons; we cannot get you discounted admission to swim at any of them; and we cannot help you find your children’s lost goggles or bathing suits.

We can and do try to give you reliable information about the pools, their locations, their admission policies, and their single-visit or casual swimming prices. Where possible, we include hypertext links to the pools’ own official websites and Facebook pages, clickable email addresses, and links to the websites of the clubs and teams that swim there. Look to those resources within each listing for more detailed information.

The data in the site is under continual review and is revised whenever the site’s editor becomes aware of a change, but, with more than 20,000 listings, a complete, periodic review of every listing takes about seven years to complete; in many places, prices will change four or five times before we have a chance to check the pool’s official website again.

For that reason, we ask for your help: If any of the information in the listing is incorrect, out of date, or could be improved, please tell us. There is an "Edit" button on just about every line of every listing, click on the edit button to tell us what needs to be changed. (No, it's not a place for you to ask us questions. What we have in each listing is the latest news we have.)

Also, please consider checking the listings of the pools you regularly use at home or when traveling, as your knowledge may be helpful to someone else who is unfamiliar with the area and visiting for the first time. Just go to the Add a Pool section of the site, read the first page, then fill out the questionnaire.

Facility Reviews

While I didn't actually swim here I did call in. The pool looked good - proper lane ropes with, slow, medium, and fast lanes. Mornings from 7 to 10 AM sounded like good times, as all six lanes were reserved for lane swimming, and I was told that on average there might be 15 people in the pool, sometimes up to 20. Twenty people in six lanes is still pretty good! The only bad thing is that there is no parking. Check the timetable online for when lane swimming is available.

This is an excellent pool. Very clean changing area as you are required to take your shoes off before entering. Bring your own lock. Swimming caps are required, but I was able to borrow one from the lifeguard. There were six lanes with anti-turbulence lane dividers at lunchtime; two or three people per lane, separated into fast, medium, and slow.

The pool seems to be a low chlorine one, which is great. Swimmers were all swimming in the correct speed lanes and courteous if you needed to pass them. The pool has a moveable floor and for some reason the shallow end was very shallow when I was in - too shallow to tumble turn at that end.

Agree, this pool is excellent! We swam at 10:00 AM on a Sunday and either had a lane to ourselves, or swam with only one other person. Important note: the locker rooms are European “village” style (common area with changing cabins and lockers), and the showers are common and in view of the pool deck, so showering is done with swimsuit on.

I was here 10 AM on a Thursday in early December and there were only four of us in the pool; by 11 AM there were about ten people. It's a very clean facility with a sauna and steam room. I only tried sauna and it wasn’t very hot but had just been cleaned, so maybe there hadn't been enough time for it to reheat. The Sports Centre website has a video worth watching for some of the ins and outs of the facility. Locks are required for the lockers but combination locks available for purchase at front desk at €11. There are plenty of lockers and lots of room in the change rooms.
