Facility Notes
The pool opened in February, 2008.
An appropriate lock, (Master lock, Master combination lock) and swim cap are required to be shown at reception for admission. No exceptions.
The pool closes for three weeks each year in late September - early October.
The pool reopened in 2023 after a 3+ years long closure due to parts of the concrete ceiling falling into the pool. The problem has been remedied and the pool has reopened.
Facility Reviews
Lap swim is 25m at all times, 6 AM – 10 PM, except Sunday 6 - 8, when five 50m lanes are available. There are always eight lanes open for lap swim. Usually set up as three, 25m, 8 lane, 7'6" deep sections separated by bulkheads. [September, 2008]
Lovely, pool, lovely people. The only problem is they all like to swim slow breaststroke in the rapido lane. The lifeguards were helpful in sorting out the lanes. They recommend coming before 7:30 AM or at 11 AM for laps.
I use this pool on a regular basis. It is very busy from 11 AM to 12:30 PM, when I typically go. The many lanes are, indeed, marked by speed, but these are suggestions. There is a giant digital clock, with no seconds timing on it. The changing rooms are the 'Oh, well' factor: Cramped and the showers usually require a wait. I take the 7 train and walk 15 minutes to the facility.

NEW POLICY AS OF OCTOBER 1, 2017: No more single day passes!!! How rude and unwelcoming for swimmers who visit. I have swum here for years when visiting family.
I urge anyone who wants to be able to swim here as a guest on a Day Pass to write to the mayor on the Contact the Mayor page of the city's website and let him know that this is not a very nice thing to do.
