Facility Reviews
I have had the pleasure to swim in the Ouray pool on many occasions. Most of the people enjoying the water were not competitive swimmers, and enjoy it we did. There are distinct areas in which to swim or soak as the water temperature differs from one area to another, in other words, temperatures for every taste.
A lovely facility with panoramic mountain views. Bring quarters for the lockers. On a July Sunday, the waterslides were open from 12-6. Ice cream and basic snacks are sold and patrons can rent towels and buy swim gear. All of the pools are large and the adult-only pool was very peaceful.
Be mindful of the weather—lightning will close the pool for 30 minutes. You can get a pass to return another day if you've been there for less than two hours, but there are absolutely no refunds.

This is an amazing facility with multiple pools and a lap pool that is big. On a Saturday in July around 3 PM the parking lot was pretty much full, although there is room along the road for overflow. Given the parking lot I expected there to be a shortage of lockers but that was not the case. Don't worry about quarters because they do have a change machine. The dressing room is not fancy (basic public pool) but seemed clean. There were lanes open for lap swimming despite the crowd. The staff at the gate were friendly and you should be sure to notice the freezer of frozen ice cream treats (bunny ice cream bars, so good quality). Be aware of the propensity for late afternoon thunderstorms (fairly common in the Colorado mountains). I would like to see what it is like in the winter. You can buy beach towels for $10 but I would suggest bringing your own.
