Important Notice Please Read

Swimmers Guide is not connected with any of the facilities listed on this site in any way. We cannot tell you the pools’ opening and closing times or when Senior Aerobics classes are held; we cannot tell you about the availability or cost of swimming lessons; we cannot get you discounted admission to swim at any of them; and we cannot help you find your children’s lost goggles or bathing suits.

We can and do try to give you reliable information about the pools, their locations, their admission policies, and their single-visit or casual swimming prices. Where possible, we include hypertext links to the pools’ own official websites and Facebook pages, clickable email addresses, and links to the websites of the clubs and teams that swim there. Look to those resources within each listing for more detailed information.

The data in the site is under continual review and is revised whenever the site’s editor becomes aware of a change, but, with more than 20,000 listings, a complete, periodic review of every listing takes about seven years to complete; in many places, prices will change four or five times before we have a chance to check the pool’s official website again.

For that reason, we ask for your help: If any of the information in the listing is incorrect, out of date, or could be improved, please tell us. There is an "Edit" button on just about every line of every listing, click on the edit button to tell us what needs to be changed. (No, it's not a place for you to ask us questions. What we have in each listing is the latest news we have.)

Also, please consider checking the listings of the pools you regularly use at home or when traveling, as your knowledge may be helpful to someone else who is unfamiliar with the area and visiting for the first time. Just go to the Add a Pool section of the site, read the first page, then fill out the questionnaire.

Facility Notes

The water temperatures shown for each pool are as per the October 9, 2018 Vigilância Sanitária da Piscina reports viewed on November 10, 2018, which we hope are representative. The page is updated regularly so, if you click on the link, find the latest report for any of the pools with the suffix "(FQ)" and you can see the most recently available temperature, chemical, and pH readings for each pool. The reports with the suffixes "(M)" and "(THM)" don't have the information about temperatures, etc.
The club also has a Facebook page.

Facility Reviews

The water is a good training temperature, very clean and the lanes/ends are well marked. The changing areas are clean but in need of serious maintenance (roof leaking, toilet seats broken, etc.) There is major building work going on all around the site at the moment, so there may be a complete renovation underway.

Excellent pool complex. Excellent water temperature and facilities. A dome over the pools opens during summer. Highly recommended.

I thoroughly enjoyed my swim at this large, bright facility on a Friday afternoon in November. I was given a lock and key to use on a locker of my choice. The locker rooms are single-gender. All three pools were enclosed in a large area, and all had available lanes that were open to the public. I chose the 50m pool, which is adjacent to the 25m pools. Although there were aqua aerobics classes, a kids' swim practice, and people coming and going, I had a lane to myself during the nearly two hours I was in the water. One can borrow kickboards, pull buoys, paddles, and fins from an ample supply. From September, 2018, to June, 2019, the pool is open 7 AM to 10 PM on weekdays, 8 AM to 8 PM on Saturdays, and 9 AM to 1 PM on Sundays.

The pool appears to have been upgraded since some of the earlier reviews. There are segregated changing rooms that are clean and bright. The pool is fantastic. There's a 4-lane 50m pool (1.4m deep) and two 25m pools set up as 25m pools, although one is 33-1/3m wide!

I was not offered a lock, but the facility seemed very secure.

Parking on the street can be difficult but there is a supermarket up the hill and you can park there for a fee and it's easy to walk into the pool complex.
