Facility Reviews
The first challenge is finding the centre and the entrance, as the building does not conform to the stereotypical UK leisure centre. It is located within a huge, fortress-like Department of Works and Pension edifice with entry by buzzer. The pool and its facilities are not glamorous by any means. Showers are hot though. The pool is narrow with only one lane roped off out of a possible four. The water is rather too warm for my liking, but not impossible for serious swimming. Normally membership is required but it appears that visitors to the city may gain entrance at a cost of £4.20, with locker key available via refundable deposit of £5. Staff seem friendly.
